I have been to Linda's numerous times and I have always been overly satisfied. Anytime I have guests in town I take them there.

LOVE this place. Feels like I'm back home (NY) & not only is the atmosphere timeless of a NY diner but the people are so nice & friendly. Oh, and the food??? GREAT. They are very accommodating as I ordered something off the menu. Don't forget to bring cash, cash only.

Old school little dinning restaurant near the winter park area on Fairbanks road, right across the 4Rivers restaurant. This place only accept cash for payment and they do have an ATM machine inside just in case you didn't bring the dollar bills, but then again, who likes paying ATM fees!! Staff is very friendly, you can walk in, sit wherever you like, you will have the first person coming to greet you and take you drink order, the second person will take your food order. Menus are at the table already so don't wait excepting your waiter or waitress to bring you one, My favorite part about this place is that they serve breakfast all day, very quick service and a good alternative to a Cracker Barrel concept. So far, I have tried a grilled chicken omelette with I believe jack cheese, served with a side of hash browns and a choice of biscuit or toast bread, I chose biscuit. You can order an English muffin for an additional 25 cents. Second time around I ordered scrambled eggs plate, a side of turkey sausage (which I didn't like as it tasted like it was nuked inside a microwave) they were out of hash browns this time and had what I think our waitress called it "potatoe fries" VERY good and would rotate between them and the hash browns.

I've been here a couple times and it's a pretty standard diner. It doesn't get too overly crowded usually, so it's generally pretty quick to get in and out and the prices are pretty decent. The service has always been good. The breakfast is just OK. The hashbrowns are a little too buttery/greasy for me. I got the chipped beef on toast last visit, which is rare to see on a menu, but I thought it was just mediocre. I've also had a few of their lunch sandwiches in the past which have all been pretty decent, but nothing spectacular. If I'm looking for a diner in this particular area, I prefer Fairbanks Diner which is only a few blocks from here.

This place was an accidental find, but definitely a pleasant surprise! Not sure how I never knew of this place considering I have lived in or near Winter Park for several years now? Either way I am happy we know about it now.... Better late than never! The food was yummy and came out super quick. The service was great and I love the old quirky feel of the place. My boyfriend even pointed out the old school coat racks at the entrance of each booth. I would definitely recommend this place for a good lunch. We will be back for sure to test out breakfast. The only thing I would like to point out is that it is a "cash only" establishment. There is an ATM on the premises if needed though. Thank you for a great lunch! See ya'll real soon!

This dinner is bright and cheerful a good place for the first meal of the day The services is fast and friendly. I had the chicken fried steak with two eggs and ice tea. They also have good omelettes, you can also create your own amazing. Very good with refills. This establishment is very clean. You should definitely check this place out. Best dinner in winter park.

After running a 5k, I was in the mood for some steak and eggs. I usually have the best luck at a greasy diner for steak and eggs, and I've never been to Linda's, so decided to try it out after I saw they had steak on the menu. The place is on the corner of Fairbanks and Harold Ave, with about 5 spots along a parking lot on Fairbanks and another 5 along Harold. It was full when I got there, but luckily someone pulled out of Harold for me to snag their spot. Otherwise there's some street parking along Harold. We got in at a lucky time to get a seat right away (about 9am), cause 5 mins later there was a line out of the door. We were waiting for 2 other friends, and the waitress was nice enough to check up on us every so often. I did order a small OJ, which was in a larger cup than I expected. And I ordered a coffee, which was not very good and very bland. It looked like Folgers, and I've had Folgers at work, and this one was very watered down compared. I ordered my eggs over-easy, and a 6oz medium steak. with home fries, bacon, and wheat toast, all for $9.99. I requested real butter on my toast and she said they don't use margarine. Everything came out in decent time, except the waitress had written down hash browns instead of home fries, but she brought me out the home fries after I mentioned it. The eggs, steak and bacon were ok, but the home fries seemed pre-frozen out of a bag. I couldn't even eat them and let my friend have them all. At least the hash brown was a little better, but nothing much different than other places. I'm not sure I'll try this place again. At least I'll know not to get the home fries next time. I might go back just to see if their coffee was just a fluke that day.

Ate here for brunch on Sunday. We were seated quickly and the service was fast. The menu had all the breakfast basics- eggs, bacon, pancakes. There were lunch options as well and some pretty unique omelets. I ended up going with the benedict omelet. It had ham, tomatoes, and was topped with a hollandaise sauce, and came with toast. It was really good! Our server came by several times to refill our drinks and coffee. Only negative? It is cash only. They do have an ATM if you need to get cash though.

Another slice of America, located on West Fairbanks Avenue, next to the soon-to-be-relocated 4 Rivers in Winter Park. This place is so popular that their parking problem nearly equals 4 Rivers for lunch. After a nearly sleepless night, I went to LWPD for breakfast today prior to work. My three-cheese omelette was pretty darned good, accompanied with hash browns and wheat toast. I rarely use ketchup, but I use it at diners, and they had Heinz! The OJ was wonderfully cold and the service was typically diner-casual and friendly. Be forewarned, they take cash only, but they do provide an ATM.

This is quintessential Americana. From the celebrity sketches to the formica countertops, to the very comfortable comfort food, just what you should expect from a diner. Kids loved it, Spouse loved it, I love it. Have had many meals here and have never been disappointed. If you are in the area stop in, but be prepared for a crowd during peak time, and bring cash as they do not accept plastic.

Good place for lunch that is right off I-4. Better than eating at any franchise place to get some local flavor. Old Fashioned breakfast and lunch place. I am sure it looked the same 20 years ago as it does now. It might still have the same staff for that long. Good food and good service. CASH ONLY.

  • Nathan K.

Wow this place is celebrating 25 years. What a great little place. It has the best sausage gravy, and there omelets are outstanding. Corn beef hash was great too. Make sure to bring cash or you will need to use the ATM

  • Kelly W.

Linda's everything is what I expect from a good diner: quick, pleasant service and good prices. The eggs are always done right, the bacon is fantastic, and the restaurant is cute and clean. I'm also a fan of the french toast, but the pancakes aren't anything to write home about. Bring cash for their old fashioned-cash register that really belongs in an antique store, and don't expect to read the short-hand on the ticket when they hand it too you, but rest assure your bill won't be high.

We ate breakfast at the Winter Park in early 4/03. The food and service were good, but most customers sat in the smoking section and the smoke bothered us.

My family and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. We've been going here for the past 7 years and nothing has changed. Great service, great food and my son absolutely adores all the waitresses!

Unless you are a regular don't bother going here. When I walked in I was given a dirty look from no less than 3 people one being my future waitress as if I shouldn't be there. Once I sat down the waitress asked me what I would like to drink while helping someone else. I ordered chicken fried steak and a soda. I will give this place one thing the food was out fast mind you the chicken fried steak was like cardboard drowned in gravy the mashed potatoes were cool to the touch and the bread had specks of something on it don't know what. The only time the wait staff was polite was once I paid my bill.

I love mom and pop shops but this one left a bad taste in my mouth...literally. The honey and I had stopped here for breakfast after dropping my car off at the dealer to get serviced. He is so sweet and totally catered to my request of, "good 'ol fashioned, down home cooking from a mom and pop shop...ya know, country style" and he figured since we were in the area, he'd take me here. The breakfast wasn't too bad but they use margarine to cook their food. (So, I should probably insert my disclaimer here....I loathe margarine....in fact, I required the honey to keep butter in his refrigerator at all times to even be in a relationship with me and to rid of any margarine in sight from his refrigerator because I would not have fake plasticy tasting stuff in my refrigerator. Yeah, that kinda loathe) So, we drop a star for that here. But other than stating my preference on butter over margarine, it is NEVER ok to serve raw fish to a customer. EVER. The honey ordered fish and chips and the fish was still cold and raw in the middle from not being cooked long enough. (Must have still been frozen when they dipped it in the batter before they fried it.) It would have been great for the server to stop by and check on us but she dropped off the check at the same time as she dropped off our food so we had to call her over to inform her that the food was raw and that the bill needed to be corrected. (By the way, since when do servers stop asking customers if they want dessert after they're done eating?? They had pie on their menu...must not be that great if she dropped off the check with the food...) So this is where we drop all other stars.

Yum! Loved my lunch at Winter Park Diner (again) Fresh, delish chicken salad over greens with tomatoes, black olives and Linda's famous homemade balsamic dressing. Aced it again!!

Came here almost every Sunday when I lived nearby. I think Linda's has the best sausage gravy around. As far as diner's go, it's great for a casual (very big) breakfast.

Awesome breakfast. Very laid back atmosphere. Service and food were both great. I had the smother biscuit which is a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit smothered in gravy. I'm sure it took a few days off my lifespan, but it was worth ith!

Linda's has a great quick breakfast with a quality staff that remembers their clients. The only drawback I have had is that you need cash but other than that this my favorite morning stop in Winter Park.

Great old-school diner. Cash only. Super relaxed and a great place to grab a diner-style breakfast with the family. My Dad adores this place. We go here every time he visits :)

Linda's offers good ole country breakfast. My eggs were kinda greasy, but that's to be expected when your eating country breakfast made with good old fashion grease. Every time I go in, I crack up at the pictures of '50s icons lining the walls. My favorite is the JFK and Jacqueline portraits separated by one Marilyn Monroe looking her very sexiest...hilarious!

Pros: For an Orlando diner, their food is great. Friendly staff. Cons: Service can be slow if backed up. Parking can be difficult. If you put in a to-go order, they'll most likely get your order wrong. Make sure to double-check your order prior to leaving.

this place is a solid four stars. the service is fast and friendly. pancakes, eggs, bacon, potatoes, coffee...it's all there, and it's all good. this place has carpet, and old booths, and portraits of old school famous people all around...kitschy and awesome. this place is CASH ONLY...so, don't get surprised by that one. i would definitely come back. it's no cristo's, but nothing is...for me anyway.

Linda's is a classic breakfast diner, and very popular with the locals as it's been around since the 50s. It's cash-only and closes at 2pm (1pm on Sundays) and they also serve brunch items. Everything is very cozy & homemade. The customer service is good, but don't expect a long chat with the waitresses...as they are rushing. They are ready take your order and put it in pretty quickly, so don't take it personally, just go with it. It really is good food. :) enjoy!

Nothing is finer than being at Linda's Winter Park Diner; well whenever! This is a great locals spot for Breakfast or Lunch. The servers are outstanding, the kitchen great so you get great food, service and quality all rolled into one. Many have tried but this is a long standing woman owned business several have tried to copy but failed. In the area; drop in and say hi to Linda!

I was quite excited to come here, as I drive by this place often. The food was nothing of the ordinary, same food you find at a Denny's, the ambiance wasn't great either. The server only came to our table twice, to get the order and to bring the check.. We had literally just gotten our food when she brought the check, that's the only two times we saw her. I was finishing up my food when I had one of the busboy's already try to take my plates away which seemed quite rude to me. This place is cash only, they have a small sign when you walk in so if you're distracted in conversation, you would not see it, nobody informed us of this either. I will not be coming back here, this place knows nothing about good service.. I feel like I spent my money at the wrong place. If you like good customer service, don't come here.

Linda's is awesome. The food could be better but it really does have a homemade feel. The staff is great (especially Linda) and the service is even better. The food comes out quick and in big portions. I come here to get breakfast at least 1/week or get it to go. My favorite is the Greek goddess omelette. They also have amazing grilled biscuits. THE BEST. The only down side is that this place is CASH ONLY. Other than that, no problems!

Ate here for lunch on Wednesday. The menu is so large it was hard to decide on breakfast or lunch. We opted for two of the daily specials, chicken and dumplings and cabbage rolls. Both came with two sides. The chicken dish was delicious with excellent flavors and textures...the sauce was wonderful and mellow...it all went together beautifully, tender chicken. Ample portion. The salad was fresh and the balsamic dressing so good that I intend to buy a bottle and wish I could have the secret recipe! Cabbage rolls were great with excellent red sauce and creamy mashed potatoes. Side of fried okra was excellent. Black eyed peas were also delicious. This is diner fare at its finest, at unbelievably reasonable prices. Staff were friendly and efficient. Remember that it is cash only.

Rich in tradition, it's a Winter Park landmark. The booths are vinyl. The tables are formica. The art is hand-drawn portraits of celebrities and Star Trek characters. It is a REAL diner. It's not fancy or gourmet, it's simply American classics done right and served to you by people who care about your food and your experience. I've been eating at The Diner since I came to visit my brother at Rollins when I was 8 years old and got the Big Ben for $1.25. I've now been eating there for 38 years and I do my best to get in to visit Linda at least once a week. Now we bring our son here and I'm sure one day he will bring us here.

Arrived Sunday at noon. Got a parking spot right in front of the door. Greeted with a friendly smile and told to sit wherever we wanted. Friendly and quick service, warm tasty food. Thought the prices were reasonable. A great old fashioned diner. Only wish it was open in the evening for dinner but sadly, they close at either 1 or 2pm depending on the day of the week. I saw they only take cash so I was happy to know this upfront as I rarely ever carry cash.

I might be a little bit one sided on this place because my mother in law is Linda and my wife gina has been serving here forever. Do not let that info make u think I am reviewing this place to hook them up or something. The fact of the matter is I am a foodie. I love great food. It is my passion. I own a restaurant and have been in the Bizz my whole life. I do all kinds of dining. So with that being said. Family or not. This place is great. When I want a good clean breakfast or lunch i am here. It's diner food done right. Very old school place. Been there since the 50s!! Another great thing is the customers. You can go in for breakfast and be eating next to such a cool variety of locals. From judges and lawyers to the local construction workers and car salesman. Check it out! See you there!

  • Colleen D.

Homemade taste with an old school flair. CASH ONLY, don't let this surprise you when you are cashing out. The food was good, I enjoy the classic eggs benedict. The staff are friendly and attentive. The decor needs a serious facelift. The bar stools are fun but the booths are old and coming apart. I would love to see this place transformed into a 50's style diner.

Linda's is the best greasy spoon around! I usually go to Linda's with my family which also makes every experience wonderful. My favorite entrée at Linda's is their biscuits and gravy with eggs over easy, so GOOD! Their omelettes, benedicts and pancakes are also delish. Your coffee mug will never get cold or empty at Linda's because they have an exceptional "beverage goddess" that attends to all of your beverage needs. That is a little inside joke... If you're in need of some great hangover food or just love a greasy spoon check out Linda's Winter Park Diner!

This place was great! I had the Greek omlette which had some amazing dressing or sauce inside of it. I live too far away for regular visits, but luckily my daughter will be at the rep theater for camp for 2 months! Guess where I will be?!

Linda's is my Sunday morning tradition! I love the diner atmosphere .. and the fact that they truly get to know their customers! Check out the specials on the white board.. although the service is great ... they will often be so slammed that it might not be mentioned. You really cannot make a bad choice on the menu! They have a wide selection of breakfast offerings, salads, sandwiches and I hear the desserts are out of this world. I have only dined there for breakfast. So .. a couple of quirky little things... I don't eat carbs.. especially bread .. but I cannot say "no" to the rye toast. I don't know where they get it from.. but seriously ... it's the best! They give you REAL half & half w/ your coffee! not those little cups of whatever! I hate those little plastic cups of non dairy, weird, doesn't have to be refrigerated coffee creamer. I usually order the special which is an egg white omelette with spinach, feta cheese, side of hash browns or home fries and toast. They will sub out the potatoes for tomatoes .. which must be purchased from the farmer's market because they are always perfect! Little known fact ... they make their own balsamic vinaigrette and it's great on those tomatoes! This is just a local diner ... I hate that I said "just" .. it's so much more! A few tips: Parking can be an issue especially on weekends. Be careful about parking on side streets because it is residential and you don't want to upset the neighbors. On Sundays, four rivers barbecue is closed, therefore overflow may use their lot and it's adjacent to the diner. Again, on Sundays it can be very busy. I have found that 9:15 and 10:15 are times where there is a lull in the crowd. Be sure and bring cash, because they do not accept credit cards .. there is an ATM inside .. but save yourself that transaction fee. It's a friendly place .. I cannot say that enough .. I often see tables exchanging sections of the newspaper or offering to scoot down at the counter to accommodate a couple .. kind little gestures that make me smile ... and once again .. you're supporting a local business!

I've driven by Linda's too many times to count, but today I finally went in, and what the hell took me so long? I got two eggs, two pieces of bacon, and two pieces of french toast for $6.99. The bacon was thick and crisp, the eggs were nicely scrambled and complimented by ketchup, the french toast was freakin' *awesome*. I can see where parking would be a problem, but I hit Linda's up for breakfast around 12:30 on a Saturday after the Winter Park Christmas Parade and it was easy-breezy. Definitely a new staple!

  • M. G.

Loved the atmosphere here. The servers were pleasant, the clientele were friendly and not overly loud, and the preservation of the original decor is great. Menu is classic diner food and I enjoyed mine. The pancakes were a bit on the 'chewy' style side for my liking, but a plentiful amount. My eggs were cooked perfectly. They only take cash, so come prepared. Not a huge parking lot, so you may have to be prepared to look for a spot. But people move in and out of their pretty quickly. I prefer this kind of diner over the chain restaurants any day...a real diner with American diner food. Cooked well and served up by down to earth people.

Great cute little diner atmosphere! Delicious food and very friendly service. Was there with a group of 4, we all had completely different breakfast entrees, and we all loved our food! Will definitely be going back to Lindas!

I like good diner food as much as anybody and have been to a number of diners that were quite tasty, this just isn't one of them. The service was fine but the food was pretty bad. Coffee was weak and served with milk instead of cream (yuck). The "Mexican" omelet was greasy with watery salsa and some nasty American "cheese" melted on it and a tiny dollop of sour cream. The wheat toast was greasy and soggy in spite of being slightly over-toasted and the honey packet on the table tasted strong, like it might have been old. Grits weren't too bad other than being slathered with greasy margarine. I would avoid this place for breakfast in favor of many other alternatives, even fast food would have been better.

Great little mom and pop type breakfast place. The term classic American diner comes to mind the moment you walk in the door with a cast of regulars and locals, that include cops, firemen, judges, politcos, truckers, bikers that make up the customer base, and the classic decor that looks straight out of a 1950's, with it's industrial green wall paint and celebrity photo's. Service is fast I've been here several times for breakfast and they greet you, take your order, and serve you very quickly and not as in they want to turn the table fast but to just take care of you. Nothing fancy, this is straight old fashion American cookin'! Try the smothered biscuit for breakfast! It's got just about every breakfast component that you can think and then some. Best time is before 9 am on the weekends but even if you see a lot of cars in the lot there is almost always room to sit. BRING CASH it's good ol' american green back dollar they take here.

Great little spot. Have been for breakfast multiple times with friends and food is always, fresh, hot, fast and consistent. Owner Linda is always close by to meet/greet quests with a smile. A local favorite. Tried lunch yesterday for the first time. Fresh roasted open face hot turkey sandwich with gravy, mash, and fried okra was plentiful and delicious.....

Had breakfast here with my mother the other day. I seated myself as they requested, but it took a little while to get someone to take my order. It seemed like the place was really busy and all of the servers were working hard to attend to all the customers. I ordered my usual breakfast: 2 eggs over easy, bacon, rye toast, and hash browns. While everything was fine, I wasn't totally blown away by anything on my plate. Everything was just okay. I wouldn't rule out coming back here again for breakfast and trying something different, though!

All I have to say or ask how is THIS place still open? And why are people commenting so positive? Makes me think they could be friends, relatives or employees? I don't know but thought we'd give it try, when wanting to try out 4 Rivers but it was so packed we got discouraged and saw this Diner right across the street, seeing their smaller parking lot pretty full too, as a good sign and decided to try them instead... Well, this is a good example that, that may not be always the case! I love Diners and open to new dining experiences, so I went in with an open mind. Inside the place looks a little retro feel with black & white pics all across the walls of actors and open seating where you want, menus on the table but the place looks a little, let go, but still, I remember telling my Dad, sometimes places like this, makes great FOOD! I really don't care how the place looks like, as long as the FOOD is good... Waitress came over and my Dad asked for beer but they don't serve beer and so he went for the lemonade and I asked for 1/2 & 1/2 of sweet and unsweet tea. I asked about their specials, my Dad decided to go with their meatloaf (comes with 2 sides) so went for the coleslaw, mash potatoes. I went for turkey and stuffing with green beans and tomatoes. It came with 4 dinner rolls with butter. My Dad wanted to try their soup of the day clam chowder (cream white base). The soup came out first and my Dad practically left it and I ate half of it, it tastes like out of can, not HOT but between warm and tepid. Then his meatloaf came out and after a few bites he left that too! It was smothered in some gravy, he tried swiping it off and the mash potato also with gravy, AGAIN served very tepid and did NOT taste homemade at all, as they claim it is, on their menu saying "not fast food but homemade, just served fast". My father loves coleslaw but taking a taste myself, I agreed with him, that it wasn't flavorful... Please don't get me wrong, I'm NOT a finicky eater, would have enjoyed FAST FOOD better to this place, everything tasted bland and was looking forward to "homemade". My turkey and stuffing was OK but nothing to come back for, green beans were OK, it seemed healthy, as I didn't think it had no bacon or broth to it but again did not taste fresh and my other side, tomatoes, was just that, slices of very ripened tomatoes... The dinner rolls were not warm or fresh, I ate just one with turkey in it but left the other 3... I always ask to take leftovers home but for the FIRST time, that I can remember, I didn't here. When the waitress came over and asked if everything was OK? Looking at almost all the meatloaf not eaten, I responded, my Dad didn't like it. She did ask if he wanted something else in place of it but he really lost his appetite by then... So she did take it off the bill (btw $26)! Thought it was expensive for the mediocre food and not even my tea wasn't very good! When I asked my Dad about his lemonade, as we were so discouraged about "everything" we ate, we were trying to find "something" to complement, he responded with a laughter, "no, not even my lemonade was good"! And well my one star rating was really for the kind waitress taking $6 off the bill for the meatloaf! But to the very end of going to pay the bill, I failed to READ the BIG sign on cashier in front of me, as I entered the door, "ONLY CASH". They really should put it on their DOOR outside before entering. Though they pointed out they have an ATM, which I never use, when I swiped it, it wanted to charge like another $2.50 on the transaction, so I canceled it. Now, it was just the principle of the matter, being I did not want to pay anymore, than I was already paying, plus tip, on a meal, I was not happy with, so found enough "cash" to pay it... And I don't know for sure, if it was what I ate but started to feel even quizzy to my stomach during the rest of the afternoon... I guess it's true, "different strokes for different folks" because their parking was filled, I guess many people do like this kind of food! Or my Dad says, its just people like us, that get discouraged of seeing 4 Rivers so overcrowded, they're coming over to try out this Diner too... LOL ... But for those who really want good food, don't waste your time trying this place, don't waste your money here... you could have better food at Olive Garden paying the same amount or going to a "fast food"! ='(

This is the best diner in the Orlando area. Great food and great prices. Head on down to Winter Park diner on Fairbanks, and step back in time. Seriously, this place has the best bacon and club sandwiches. They also have great soups and daily lunch specials. Don't forget to bring cash because credit cards are not accepted but if you do they have an ATM onsite. They are located next to 4 Rivers and when the line is too long for BBQ walk next door to Linda's and I am sure you will be glad you did.
